Every pre-law student should read this. After taking the LSAT, every student should read this book and work thru it to prepare for 1L year (first year). Otherwise 1Ls are lost for too long and they struggle that first semester. There's a few other books that teach writing like a 1L or beginning legal writing. That is another book for just before entering law school. Don't wait until law school has started; it'll be too late. Law school is not about speed reading, but about reading a specific strategic manner; "lawyerly reading" by asking the right questions as you read; and limiting the re-reading. Highlighter methods and underlining are helpful, but many 1Ls don't know what to mark up, and the whole thing is marked up at the end.
